Is a tuner/decoder/whatever required to play high def games on an HD-ready TV? I'm getting yes and no answers from different sources.

Depends on exactly what console and what HDTV you have, but the most likely answer is no. List the brand and model of your TV and the console in question, and maybe we can give a more definitive answer.
