unlocking 3g phone

i have a sanyo v801sa vodafone i got from a garage sale. it works off the cdma network and it's a 3g phone. I'm wondering if there's any way to unlock it for use for a US cingular sim card. it takes something clled usim inside, but i donno if that's the same thing. can anyone help?

It wont work. I hade one like that too where the phone asks for a usim card. It wont work without a usim card.

I'm guessing there's no way to get a usim card and just transfer the information over to it?
