I keep getting disconnected from mIRC with the:
[10053] Software caused connection abort
error. Streaming videos stop loading after a short ammount of time, and when I can stay connected to IRC it lags horribly. I've tried leaving my TCP/IP settings on Automatic, and also using a static IP, problems are solved by neither. Called my cable company, they didn't know. I'm behind a router, but that can't be the problem because the another computer which is connected wirelessly has no problems. It's not the hardware because I don't seem to have the problems in Ubuntu Linux, as far as I can tell (only stayed in Linux long enough to test connection then switched back to Windows).

Help me /tech/, you're my only hope ;_;

Are you receiving a notice when you try going into a channel like #4chan? There are some douchebags that are using a script to send a notice to everybody when they connect to the channel thier in that uses a glitch, so the notice will look like DCC SEND IF_YOU_GET_DISCONNECTED_YOU_NEED_TO_UPDATE_YOUR_IRCVERSION_OR_ROUTER_FIRMWARE

Of course, most people will never even SEE the message as nobody pays attention to the status screen so this method fucking fails.

Try checking that, if you are in fact getting d/ced from that message, update to mIRC 6.2, make sure you're connecting to rizon on port 7000, and make sure your router is using the latest firmware.
