How to do a backflip?

I've been trying to start on this tricking stuff for a while, but no progress. :| I could do the aerial thing, but then I fall on my shoulder/head. D: And, when I tried to do a backflip, I get an image of me falling onto my head, and breaking my neck. x_x

try doing it on one of those trampolines first to figure out how to move without busting your ass.  once you got it down, practice it on some padding with someone spotting you, so they can catch you if it looks like you are going to do a face plant.
