With the WC beginning in a few months, what country do you think is going to win it?

I hope that England wins, despite being from the US. They have the players that are good enough to do it.

Yeah, England has a strong attack and midfield with players like owen, rooney, lampard, beckham, gerrard & one of the best defence in the world too (ashley cole, rio, carragher, terry, campbell, ledley king, neville) but as a team, I don't think they have what it takes to win the WC.
I'd say Brazil will win. I honestly can't see anyone getting past Brazil. There just too strong all over the pitch for pretty much everyone.

England will not win World cup, our manager is completely unmotivated plus he doesn't know what the fuck he is doing.
The US has a chance at going far because they play with nothing to lose.

90% of the us team is forigen, they hire black ppl from like ethopia to play for them, cuz they suck, also canadas main sponsor is tide LOL, so although i live in canada i despise my cuntries team, SO GO BRAZIL!
no i am not just picking the best team, i hapend to be behind brazil since 98, and yea they lost i was dissapointed, but they got back on their feet in 02,
so as u can see i agree with poster #3 like come on no one can beat Ronaldo, he is a friggen legend!(got a hot wife too!)
also Spain might have a chance, they got good players (Raul) and Turkey got that dredded goalie (Rustu)

England will win it. Brazil are hard to beat but when pushed can crumble at times. Englands greater power and physical presence should also help in getting past Brazil. Having said that, this is all counting on England not getting half their players injured like last time.

England have a great team of player but Sven-Göran Eriksson will be their down fall.
Maybe when\if guss hiddink takes over, England will win another cup

I'm predicting an Argentina Brazil final, with Argentina winning 3-2.

I don't think Argentnia will make it to the finals. We have the same problem as England. Great players but a shit manager. Just have to see how we go against Croatia in march.

Wow, quie a lot of support for England here. I hope they win as well. We have a great team and we are due in for a medal lol

Just look at what Guss hiddink is doing with Australia.
Lol, Dutch-power is always good, ;D. Anyways, I think Germany will take it and upset everyone. >:x

True that with Guss Hiddink, who wins the the cup to me isn't always as interesting as some of the small teams that freakishly pop up and play some wierd styles
I think Brazil will be the top.
They have a certain chicket for Tournament.
Japan,Croatia,Australia are weak for defeating Brazil.
I'm Japanese, but Japan cannot pass this pre league without big lucks

You know the world doesnt work like that yes?
Latvia are due a world cup too. Oh wait.

Before the tournament, everyone always goes on about how Portugal/England/Spain have an amazing team and are going to kick so much ass. Then they lose miserably. Eh?

You misunderstand. He means they're due to win one, not because they just happen to be there, but because they're from a group of amazing teams, whereas Latvia is shit and doesn't deserve mention.

Clearly, you people understand nothing about soccer. Anyone with a clue knows that Italy is the only team capable of beating Brazil.
No. Because England, Spain, Germany, France and Argentina can also beat Brazil.

I really doubt any of these teams can beat Brazil. Germany (4-1 against Italy), France (1-2 against Slovakia), and Argentina (3-2 against Croatia) all lost their friendlies, last week.

The key word is friendlies
Name:
Anonymous2006-03-05 14:41
While they were "only" friendlies, I still think they were pretty significant losses. These teams will only have two more games before the world cup.

like the other guy said, the key word is friendlies, this means they won't put out the first team, but give chance to some less experienced players.
Also you must remember that many of the players for those teams play in Europe and as such are into the last stages of their respective clubs seasons. Look at Steven Gerrard for England. He got pulled off at Half-Time against Uruguay because his club manager requested he be given a rest.

Sure, but both teams in the friendly are in the same situation and both teams don't have players play the whole game (except for the goalkeepers).
so you can't make a judgement on what would happen is all the players were fielded from both sides.

SPAIN AND PORTUGAL SUCKS LOL
Name:

Italy FTW!

México could be the big surprise. Afterall they won the u-17 cup against Brazil in Peru and they have played fine against some big ones like Brazil and Argentina in the late tournaments like Confederations Cup but the only bad thing is that when they play against teams that are about his same level they lose big like when they were kicked out by the US in Japan-Korea and now they're gonna play against Iran(not sure), Angola and Portugal.

Germany is going to win obviously, since it is their home that they are playing in

clear evidence which shows that all these teams /can/ beat Brazil. The World Cup is like the Champions League - sure there's a best team, but all the teams are so good that many different teams could win. Except, with only one game deciding who goes through, it's even more chaotic.
I'd say Brazil have got the best chance of winning, but it's incredibly stupid to say no one can beat them. Hell, they drew 2-2 with Japan just the other year.
Any of the top teams in WC06 /could/ beat them.
