vector problem

Name: Anonymous 2011-09-30 22:23

I'm trying to figure out this physics problem.

vector C is -3î -3(k-hat)

and I need to find the magnitude and direction of C

My problem is that khat (sorry i can't get the symbol for it but the correct notation is in the picture I found on the net) is supposed to be notation for direction in the z-axis, so I'm not sure how I'm supposed to determine direction..

what i'm pretty sure about is that the vector is on the plane that slices through the z and x axis.

isn't magnitude sqr 3^2 + 3^2

and direction 1,0,1 or something

The unit vector shows direction and is 1/magnitude of C times C

The magnitude of C is the square root of x^2+Y^2+z^2

Why would someone come to a board that averages about one post every two days for help with a homework problem?  Is it due at the end of the school year or something?
