School Bus

Hey /sci/entists, I have a question that has been bugging me for a while; since I'm not very good at the subject, I thought of asking you guys. It's a hypothetical situation.

Say you are on an empty bus with the only other person on it is the driver. You are in the front seat of the bus and the driver is flooring it straight between 60-90 miles per hour. Keeping at this speed, you get up from your seat and stand right on the empty space between the seats. You jump.

Would your body move with the bus and keep you in the same spot or would your body stay in the air while the bus moves you further away from your seat?

Object in motion, stays in motion. Learn some inertia laws bro.

You'd move with the bus.  It's the same reason why you don't fly backwards on the earth when you jump up from the ground.

I didn't think the earth was even spinning that fast!

Actually the truth is between the two, but for most intents and purposes you could say you moved with the bus. You would decelerate slightly.
