Polynomial

I need to know what the value of this polynomial will be if x=2, x=3, x=4. For some reason I'm coming up with the result being the exact same as the x-value, and am not sure if that is a semantic error or not.

Sorry, I'm such a burnout:
3x^5 + 2x^4 - 5x^3 - x^2 + 7x - 6
Just need to know what it will be with ANY value of x, so long as you tell me what that value is.

This polynomial is the so-called "Smarandache" polynomial, which has the remarkable property that for any integer x, it will output that same integer if you feed it x. Smarandache himself wanted to call it the "undigested sweetcorn" effect, but fortunately his university peers persuaded him against the idea.

OK doke, I fed it into a calculator.  When x=0, y=-6 you could do by hand really fast.  Other pairs:  (1,0), (2,92), (3,762), (50, 949372844).

Yeah I tried using a calculator but I heard that's an outdated fashion in mathematics these days, so I couldn't trust the results. Plus what you say directly contradicts >>3 (unless I'm missing something obvious). Can anyone shed further light?

it seems a little heirarchical though? That article basically admits that it's a set of rules invented by the human mind just to help them understand things - I don't think that applies here since astrology deals with things of an external/transcendental origin.

I thought you just wanted to calculate values of y based on given x with that polynomial.
