mit is a club not a school

If MIT is such a great school then why the fuck would they be such assholes about making "B"s.  I would think a B is a great thing.  School is suppose to be that; you learn something.  MIT doesn't give a fuck that you learn something.  According to their standards you have to already know it and then pass their "school" just for bragging rights.

Awww, they didn't accept you? :(

the azns got in before us and now they've pulled up the ladder. it's practically a hindu / chink only club.

Translation: It's the one school in america that honestly doesn't pay attention to race, so the kids who legitimately are smartest (i.e. azns) get in.

You mean the kids with the best memories.

There is very little basis that an A means anything more than the ability to follow orders and process information  has little to do with Intelligence. Do not trouble yourselves with Undergrad work as it all means .. Nothing. So don't worry about MIT. Go to a cheap community collage in a nice climate, they always have the best Profs. Take a shitload of different courses , even if you know exactly what you want to do. Get good enough marks to get into a PhD program B's will do just fine.Develop good team-work and communication skills as they are the most important things you can learn in collage, and the only thing that matters in the real world , because anyone can be smart but it does not mean shit if you can't communicate it. An A means that you are not challenged or your working way too hard to impress someone else.

>implying MIT isn't filled with affirmative action candidates.

The school often promotes itself saying, "we take pride in our diversity".

What's wrong with affirmative action?

Back to /newpol/ please.

Diversity, huh?
Being a homo in comp sci, I've always wondered if I could wrangle easier entrance to some grad program somewhere based on my faggotry.
Everyone I've asked either doesn't know or is made deeply uncomfortable by the question.

I'm already in a grad school now anyway, so I suppose it doesn't matter now anyway...

I was being serious.

I honestly don't see anything wrong with it.

indians and chinks easily get higher gpas than the national average, affirmative action will obviously not have anything to do with the disproportionate number of indians and chinks there.

If America wants to excuse itself like that while the rest of the world outpaces it, fine.

School is suppose to be that; you learn something

fail

something is singular

Who said they're assholes about getting Bs?  Plenty of people get Bs at MIT.  If you mean they're assholes about getting Bs in highschool, then that's because high school is a joke and if you can't get almost all As in high school there is no way you will make it through 4 years at MIT.
