Integrating a complex exponential

Name: Anonymous 2009-10-29 19:44

I'm trying to integrate e^(i[Omega]n) WRT[Omega].

The question gives the hint that the integration produces a sinc() function. I was wondering, does it integrate to sinc(i.n), or something else?

wtf is "sinc()"?

It doesn't integrate to a sinc function at all:
int e^(i*Omega*n) d Omega = 1/(i*n) * e^(i*Omega*n) = -i/n * [cos(Omega*n) + i*sin(Omega*n)] = 1/n * [sin(Omega*n) + i*cos(Omega*n)]

>2
sinc(t) = sin(t)/t for t =/= 0, and 1 for t = 0
