how the fuck do I do this, seriously? I've done this problem fucking 3 times. the solution is -1 BUT I KEEP DOING THE WORK WRONG WHAT THE FUCK FUCK

1/x + 6/(x+7) = 0
[(x+7) + 6x]/[x(x+7)] = 0
x + 7 + 6x = 0
7x = -7
x = -1
