"ethics" is what sociopaths puzzle over because they have no moral sense involving other beings

No, it's what dumb people actually bother thinking about. It's just a made up idea, along with your god.

let me summarize all you need to know about ethics.:
When deciding what is most ethical, weigh all possible options according to how much each will do what is in the overall greatest good (maximizing pleasure / minimizing pain) for the most people over the longest time with the probability of that option succeeding.

>what is in the overall greatest good
meant
>what is in the interest of the overall greatest good

Needs comprehensive definitions of pleasure and pain, along with some unilaterally agreeable, objective, quantitative measure of each. Oh, and some kind of divine insight into probabilities of options "succeeding".

no, nobody expects you to make perfect decisions in order to be considered ethical.
just do your best to determine what will work best.

That's not ethics. It's pretty damn near an introductory course in AI, though.

Utilitarian theories yes, but what about deontological ethics? Are actions inherently 'good' or 'bad', regardless of there consequence?

>Are actions inherently 'good' or 'bad', regardless of there consequence?
lol, no.
that's just a cheap lazy justification for not considering the consequences of your actions.

fermentation:
Metabolizing glucose under anaerobic conditions.  Cannot completely oxidize to CO2 because there is no O2.

gm insulin:
Genetically modified organism contains the human gene that produces insulin.

genomics
The study of the entire DNA sequence of an organism/organisms

genomic medicine
Using genomics to find and tailor medicines to individuals.

medicinal plants
420chan.org

aspirin and quinine
Aspirin:  Acetylsalicylic acid, derivative of salicylic acid, found in the willow bark.  Made Bayer lots of money.  It works by inactivating the cyclooxygenases somewhere and this numbs pain somehow.

Quinine:  Anti-malarial

artemisinn and taxol
Don't know what the first one is; taxol is an anti-cancer agent first isolated from the Yew tree.  It acts on cancer cells by binding to microtubles and slowing their growth.

stem cell research
Researching stem cells, the precursor cells in our body that have limitless differentiation potential.

ethics in general
Sociologists interested in science.
