Energy consumption in the body

Name: Anonymous 2009-05-12 11:23

Hi :)
i've got a query, has anyone ever seen a breakdown (in percentages) of how much energy is used in different parts of our body?
Also a breakdown of how much energy is used in different body systems e.g. immune system, etc

I've googledd but can't find much at all, someone please link me to something?

no offense OP but that sounds kinda useless. makes me wonder if anyone has ever bothered to really research it. wouldn't surprise me if energy usage... err energy distribution varied tremendously from person to person. what do you need to know for?

most goes to maintaining body heat. that is why a crocodile doesn't need to eat a lot. he doesn't use energy in food to warm him up
