No, I meant genes play a huge factor on how you will look physically. I have a theory (I say mine because I've never seen or heard it like this anywhere else so if there already is a theory like mine, I figured it out independently) that physical attraction is perceived by the symmetry of your body and face.
I believe this, because if you were to take somebody that you thought was cute or hot, draw simple shapes to represent what you see (e.g face is an oval or circle, eyes are elliptical, etc.), you will find that the positioning of those shapes will be visually pleasing to you.
This can also explain why anime girls can look so damn attractive than a real girl. Because unlike real girls, artists are able to draw the right shapes and place them in the right spots to make them appealing to you.
Of course it's way more complicated than that and trying to over simplify it makes me sound like an idiot, but I really don't want to write a 100 page thesis so the 5 other people that browse /sci/ can ignore it.
