Retake Physics?

Name: Anonymous 2008-12-16 14:19

I took physics I at community college and got an A, but mainly because of a huge curve. C=A, etc. now that I'm in a university I'm thinking about majoring in physics. should I retake the class and risk getting a lower grade (university is harder than community college), or just study on my own and head into Physics II whenever I feel like it, keeping this A?

I would recommend skipping it, I am assuming that physics 1 = mechanics and physics 2 = electromagnetism. Mechanics and electromagnetism are two completely different things.

Compare the courses. See if they cover the same material, compare the textbooks and so on. If they cover the same material, go for it. I'm not sure how much people actually learn in first year physics.
