Quantum Bomb

Name: Mornaf 2008-10-07 23:00

I have thought up a theoretical weapon of my own design, it is the Quantum Bomb. it is a weapon that destroys anything within the blast radius from the space-time continuum, in all of time the destroyed objects never existed... ever. therefor, even though it should, theoretically, be POSSIBLE to make, it would be impossible to use. due to the fact that, once detonated, the bomb would destroy itself. this would create a paradox, the bomb would destroy itself in all of time/space. you know the drill... the bomb destroys its own existence, and the bomb can never be detonated, therefor it couldn't destroy itself in all time... ad infinitum. also, i think the universe would implode because of the aforementioned paradox.

That doesn't make sense.  Spacetime is a 4 dimensional pseudoRiemannian manifold.  The bomb's existence is a time like curve on this manifold.  No event can influence anything outside of its future lightcone.  Thus, the bomb's detonation cannot influence its past (which is clearly not in its future lightcone).
