Sulfur Hexafluoride

Name: Anonymous 2008-09-10 21:31

I'm attempting to get a hold of some Sulfur Hexafluoride for a science project in college. It's really simple, I just need Helium, and Sulfur Hexafluoride to demonstrate how different Gasses can be More dense and Less Dense and oxygen.

Does anybody know where I can get a hold of some Hexafluoride? I'm not willing to reveal to you where I live, but I'm just looking for a general place I can get some.

Just admit you saw that goddamn Adam Savage video and now you want to try that, even though he said not to try it at home.
Sulfur hexafluoride is too expensive to play with.

You could use CO2...  It's a lot cheaper.

Doesn't your university have any?  It should.

Go to your college's chemistry department, there should be a chemical store there or someone who can help you out.
