An odd 'history of science' question...

Sup /sci/! I'm just wondering, and my apologies if this seems like kind of a broad question, but can you think of any presidents, kings, prime ministers, etc.--you know, national leaders or notable politicians--who have been scientists? Off the top of my head I can think of Thomas Jefferson, who aside from his accomplishments as President of the U.S also did some work in paleontology and invented a few nifty things. Can any of you guys think of any other politicians whose interests encompassed math and science as well as law? Thanks very much in advance.
