I'm actually pretty desperate so I'm resorting to 4chan for help.

I did an experiment regarding the formation and properties of complex iron compounds in school, and in a certain step I was to mix iron/ferrous oxalate with potassium oxalate before adding hydrgen peroxide.

Can anyone tell me the significance of using potassium oxalate?
