Mass and Gravity

The moon's mass is only 0.0123 Earth's but the moon's gravity is 1/6th Earth's.

Why is this?

Moon:
Mass - 7.3 * 10^22 kg
Radius - 1.73 * 10^6 m

Mass / (radius)^2 = 2.43 * 10^10

Earth:
Mass - 5.97 * 10^24
Radius - 6.37 * 10^6

Mass / (radius)^2 = 1.47 * 10^11

2.43 * 10^10 / 1.47 * 10^11 = 0.165

1/6 = 0.166
