Lotus Notes really doesn't do anything more than a smaller, more workable database system, used alongside an email client app.
These big software packages are
tar babies for corporations to get stuck in. There is a certain economy of scale, but the support costs turn out to be so ruinous over time that the companies may as well just have tried a duo or trio of simpler and smaller client apps that were well-tested to have worked together in some fashion.
It's not called "Lotus Bloats" for
nothing, guys.
All enterprise solutions should be viewed with great skepticism.
