Logarithmic equation

How do you solve an equation like:

ln(x) + .3x = 1

? I'm not really sure what to do from here. I know I can just stick it in my TI-83 but I'm looking for an exact answer.

In any practical career, all you need is to approximate it.  Learn a minimum of mathematics because studying math for math's sake is a waste of time.
