lim(x->a) f rougly translated means the value that is approached by 'f' as 'x' approaches 'a'.
Lim IS absolute value! It is wrong to say (or write) that Lim itself approaches some value. Lim IS that value.
Wrong:
lim x->0 1/x -> infinity
Right:
lim x->0 1/x = infinity
