Once my parents put me in a church group. It was a horrible experience, but I got one lesson: Reality is different than what idiots on the internets would like you to belive, many religious people(including the guy that commanded the group I was in and many very religious people I know) belive that many things in the bible(for example Genesis and Noah's ark) to be simply metaphors and belive that also many of the things accounted as miracles actually have scientifical explanations(for example the plagues Moses "cast"). Of course they don't belive everything there is simply metaphoric or explainable, and obviously you don't know if you're certainly against someone with these more rational views, which would get you owned in less than a second, or some idiot and you also don't know the degree of rationality they have, also, don't be swayed by people that are fiercelly anti-religion (most people that go far enough to make websites, youtube profiles and publish books, these people are biased against religion, much the same way most relious people are biased in favor, so most of the time they don't know shit), use serious philosophical arguments, as long they're not shity, heck even that Epicurus quote people uses here in 4chan all the time should kick a fair ammount of ass(unless of course he knows enough philosophy and thus will be able to use Epicurus' own arguments to counter yours in a way that you will leave the debate wearing your ass as a hat), so use serious phylosophy and and study it hard, do this correctly and you'll win(and probably sway a few people to your side).
