(x^2)^0.5= a + and - number
For example. -3*-3=9, 3*3=9, therefore 9^0.5 = -3 and 3

+x--x=2x
x-x=26
2x=26
x=+13 and -13

x - 7 = 19 + x

... and you're treating it like:

a - 7 = 19 + b

... where a=-b.  Note that "a=-b" is not the same as "x=x".
