Future of the human race

I've noticed something about people in general and it's quite interesting.

For years I've heard that in the future, mankind will be of one race instead of many due to, well, the obvious.

From an article in the BBC's archives: "Racial differences will be ironed out by interbreeding, producing a uniform race of coffee-coloured people."

 If that is true, then why hasn't it happened already? is technology a factor? Religion? or is it genetics?
For an example, let's take two known races in America: White and Black. (oooh yes I went THERE, deal with it)

What could be the reasons that these races haven't started to mix much yet?

Here's some of my findings from asking a select group of 100 students from my university.

Most white males say they do not like black women, as far as having a relationship. And when they're asked why, some have no answer. Some say "they're ugly". Some say "they're a different culture". some say "well I respect them but I wouldn't want to mix with them in that way". Some even said that "they wouldn't admit it or would try to hide it if they liked black women or considered finding one".

However, there are some interracial relationships! and I know some famous black/mixed/dark-skinned girls that every man wishes he could have a night with. I have seen pictures of very beautiful black women in my life, and some have even done nude modelling (They are smart in doing that too!).

But for the most part, I don't see much of this "racial mixing" and when I do it's Asian-Caucasian, Native American-Caucasian, or something subtle. I don't see many black-white around at all. Perhaps region is a factor: I live in the south where the 1960s still bring back bad memories in the older generation.

Upon asking a friend about this phenomenon, I learned something shocking. He said that some black people shun other blacks that mix with white people, regardless of the situation! They call them something derogatory like "oreo" or "bleached" which I find very peculiar, as if it is a dishonour to their "race" that someone has an interracial relationship. Where the hell is this thinking coming from? Could it be something genetic?

Is mankind going to be all one race as scientists predict or is this just a prediction with no scientific merit? or is it too soon to say for sure?

Well I'd say the main reason is just the fact that the different races are still relatively geographically segregated. In most countries the amount of immigration is small compared to the homogenous population already in place.

Nope. They're just racist.

At the risk of making a generalization, black people are much more racist than white people. White racists are much worse (violence, etc) and much more vocal, but by percentage, many more black people are racist than white people are racist. The worst part about this is that society encourages it. Affirmative action is a bad thing because it encourages this sort of behavior.

I personally don't find most black women attractive. I don't have a specific reason; I'm just not attracted to them. I have the same respect for them as I do other women, it's just a preference, like some people don't like blondes or some people don't like women who are tall. I am however attracted to brown girls (rather, it's not a turn on, but it's not a turn off).

I do think the races will eventually mix, but it won't happen for a very, *very* long time (I'd say thousands of years).

if you look at it the truly obvious thing would be to say its going the completely other way. we started off as one people then slowly divided into groups then into individuals, with is the direction its going right now.

everyone is racist to some degree - and those who fight that curve are generally what i like to call reverse racist, this is exactly the same thing as being racist only it's in the guise of being PC - for example, saying it's racist when a company doesn't have enough of black employees, so the left wing gets involved and brings in solutions like "x" number of blacks must be employed for every "x" number of whites employed, like this is supposed to be the correct and non racist thing to do. So basically it becomes - we don't hire the best man for the job in all circumstances, it becomes we hire the best people for the job so long as there are only so many whites and so many blacks - if we hire 10 people and 9 are white that is racist, you need to get rid of (at least) one of those whites workers (even if he scored higher and is more qualified) to ensure a black person gets the job (to show the correct 'visible' percentage ... now I've gotta tell you, if that isn't racist - i don't know what is. It's in the guise of PC but to hire someone solely because of the colour of their skin is bullshit - and not just that, it's like saying to blacks "you can't possibly get the job on brains and skill alone" we have to set aside a certain number of jobs aside cuz we know you can't get them on your own merit.
Nobody wants to say it because it's not the popular point of view but fuck it all - no matter your colour, religion, sexual pref, geez ... even age and general likes and dislikes - you will always be more comfortable with your own kind -
me? i couldn't give less of a shit if you were purple with 3 eyes, if I like you, I like you, if you're the best person for the job, I'll hire you - and after some time, once I've grown accustomed to you I may feel more comfortable around you than I do some of my own family members - but the simple fact remains - i will always be more at ease and more at home in a group setting with my own kind and anyone who won't admit to that is full of shit

Affirmative action is communist! lol. Black girls are LOUD! and get a horrible reputation. but remember people are not too creative anymore, stereotypes come from somewhere. I mean, black guys (generally) prefer white girls, and they are black!

Being racist and being comfortable with your own family or your own "kind" are two different things.

Now, saying that I would be more comfortable around white people (me being one) than black people is utter bullshit. It all depends on personalities.

I like black chicks

The primary reason is probably mostly cultural, among the reasons stated above.

From my experience, most blacks hang around with other blacks and talk with that strange accent (ebonics?) [of course, there are plenty of exceptions (I know of 2), but they're statistically rare].  I find difficulty imagining people of other races wanting to join the group and being friends with them.  At the same time, I don't think any of them will leave their group to join others.  It's theoretically possible, and it probably does happen, but it doesn't happen very often.

My closest friends are nerds, and we talk about coding, politics, and games.  If a black person wanted to join, it might initially be odd, but if they talk about and enjoy the same stuff, we won't mind.  If they maintain their preferance over other stuff, they will gradually be ostracized.

Overall, I think the world will become slightly more homogenous in the future, but not much so.  It will take at least a few millenia to happen.

Actually, a lot of whites have more black in their ancestry than they imagine and the same with blacks: From slavery and the Jim Crow Era we have the "Mulatto" and the "High-Yellow" who were considered black by whites, but not quite black by blacks. Many were able to pass with some success into white society among whites who were unfamiliar with lighter-skinned negroes and managed to have a few kids and in this way, passed some black traits into the white gene pool. Likewise, white traits were passed into the black gene pool when these not-quite-white/not-quite-black people had children with blacks.
Very few people who are aware of these things like to admit them, preferring to think that they are pure "white" or pure "black" and choosing to believe that any mixing that went on in the past was bred out by successive generations of breeding within the proper race (For example: A black believing that any "white" traits being bred out because it has been 5 generations or so since some long-forgotten ancestor had kids with a white, with following generations only having kids with other blacks.).
However, as anyone who studies genetics knows, once a trait is in the gene pool, its in the gene pool and never leaves. It might be recessive or masked by other traits, but its always there waiting for the opportunity to manifest. Inside many whites is a nigger genome waiting to come out and inside many blacks is a honky genome waiting to come out.
