The science of shit

Name: Anonymous 2007-03-12 7:33 ID:0C6mMDLH

So, I was thinking the other day, and it came to me that what we're eating is basically shit surrounded by nutrients. No matter what you eat, the result will be a brown log, so this is a common thing within all food. All food contains shit, once the nutrients and other absorbables are taken in by the body, no matter what the food used to look like, it becomes shit. So why is shit so disgusting and food so delicious? Or does a chemical change happen that creates shit out of random components of the food?

Due to the high bacterial content and low nutritional value of shit, just about all animals with nervous systems complex enough to process the information have evolved an instinct to keep away from shit.  This instinct normally seems to take the form of finding the smell of shit nasty and wanting to stay away from it.

There are some dogs that will eat cat shit out of the litter box, but those dogs are stupid.
