Philosophy Query

Name: Anonymous 2007-02-20 20:11 ID:tsazGA1U

I know this board might wasn't made for this type of question, but since I'm referring to Three Laws of Robotics by Isaac Asimov which is Science (fiction), I think it's all good.
What is this line of thought called? Is there a similar themed process that humans/societies/countries could adhere to?

I thought that utilitarian/empiricist are more of a method of thought, not the an area of thought...? Any names?
