i would like to test this board's knowledge. i will ask a series of problems to do this. i have the answers in hand so i will know if you are wrong or not.

here is problem # 1:
2w-1/w+1 - 1/w-1 = ?

Use paranthesis. I'm assuming this is what you meant
(2w-1)/(w+1)-1/(w-1) = ?
In which case this is what you get:

(2w^2-4w)/(w^2-1)

(2w)(w-2)/((w+1)(w-1)) with everything factored down.
