Continuing 28...

0.9999... < 1
How much smaller than 1? Some incomprehensibly small amount.

No matter how many places of decimal you go into infinity, you will still not have 1. You can get as close as you want, but you will not reach 1. At least, not with math.
Scientificaly 0.9999... = 1.
Mathamaticaly, they are different. Only one can be placed on the number line, as only one is rational {i.e. 0.9999... is not rational. 1 is}. Irrational numbers can be found on the number line, but one without a true value cannot {i.e. square-root of 2 can be found on a number line. It involves rotating the line from 0,0 to 1,1 onto the numberline. This gives a definite point if you're using math}.
I still fail to see any proof that 0.9999... is 1. It can be as close as you want it to be to 1.

>>1
2+2 = 4
2*2 = 4

3+3 = 6
3*3 = 6?
^ this is obviously wrong. One situation does not make a proof.
