The Gaia Theory

Nope it's not "new age". Rather, the Gaia theory is a controversial theory that offers the notion that there is one giant global biosphere that always tweaks itself to support life. The extension of this notion is that soon humanity will only be able to survive in the arctics. http://c2ore.com/articles/?itemid=2045

I personally don't believe the Earth is capable of self-regulating itself, because if you look out into space there dosen't seem to be any regulation of the sort happening with any other planet. Of course, those planets don't have life on them either, so I can't be sure. The Earth is really just a giant wet rock spiraling thorough space, and as it becomes hotter or colder, we and everything else will have to deal with it or kick the bucket. So when the temperture raises by 100+ degrees in the future, you'll either see alot less people or aliens ;P
