so I was reading sloshdot and came across this

basically, it's an attempt to make a working jet thingy (forget name) from nausicaa. now here's the trick: jets have poor acceleration and are fragile. at the altitudes they're talking about flying at, there will be alot of birds to get in the way, too. anyone have any bright ideas for a way to power this thing?
