What is the byproduct of methane when used as a fuel source, and does it contribute more to the green house effect when used as fuel than just straight methan gas, or is it cleaner?

when burned completely anyway.
carbon monoxide gets out too. i imagine the efficiency relies more heavily on the ability of the engine to utilize it.
