Your science project

hey, /sci.  This summer I was planning to build a prototype solar energy device that split light into a rainbow for better efficency, but I found out that NASA's JPL beat me to it by two years (http://www.nasatech.com/Briefs/June03/NPO21051.html , for those that care).  this got me thinking though, what kind of mad science are the rest of you working on?

If you need a project, a really cool one would be to make a clear tube and line it with wire in a coil.  Attache LED's all around the tube to the wire and then drop a magnet in the tube.  If done right, the magnet will slowly fall down the tube, but the induction from the inductor will cause the LED's to twinkle as the magnet falls down.  Look up some shit on induction, slap it on a board, A+ science project
