God

God as a symbol for spiritualism and nature etc. versus an omnipotent figure lurking above us.

As long as there is soil, man can grow food. Or get paid a couple cents to grow food for others.

if you rule out existence of a God, why is there anything and not nothing at all.

On the other hand, the existence of God cannot be quetsioned because that is temporal human definition. Therefore, also, the possibility of creating the notion of God already proves His existence, for nothing that does not exist cannot possibiliy be comprehended or imagined.

for nothing that does not exist cannot possibiliy be comprehended or imagined.

a) Calm the fuck down with negations.
b) Please tell this to movie makers. Or fiction writers. Or my imagination.

The concept of "god" is one humans have created themselves. It's a way for us to understand concepts and ideas our limited perception cannot quite grasp. As such, we create that "god" for ourselves.

It is also spiritual comfort.

Name: Anonymous 2005-09-22 18:13

It's a wildcard poor, weak minds need. Most people WANT to be lambs. They can't afford being thinking individual beings, mentally-wise.

Thou art God, brother.

There is no more need for evolution. People that would die naturally are being taken care of and thus there is no more natural selection.

Now.. if people are dumbing down because they are spreading their genes is debatable. Not sure that it works that way entirely due to the complexity of human genes.

There's lots in my town. Kids get drowned a lot.

Name: anonymous 2007-10-08 21:10

How is their room today for evolution. People technically adapt and modern medicine can save someone who was supposed to die of something

morons get killed every day, come on. and lots of us are ignored by females.

Humans have risen to a state that we're are no longer effected by natural selection. For most of our history, this has left us stagnant. Within the last 100 years or so though, technological advances (especially medical) have kept alive genetically weak people alive. In my opinion, this plays a large role (along with pollution and other factors) in rising disease rates.

Another byproduct of the industrial & technological revolutions is the white-collar worker. Educated, intelligent people who use their minds, not their bodies to earn their wage. Generally these upper-middle class people have very few children. Compared to poorer working class families, who tend to have much larger families. Humanity is slowly become genetically weaker and weaker.

Yes, people who are smarter, stronger, and more attractive (i.e. scientists, athletes, and porn stars) seem to be the ones who have less kids.

Kindness will doom us all.

Lesson of life. Liberals and socialism will always fail.

Cooperation and competition need to go hand in hand.

Relying on one over a balance of the two will always invite doom.

one of the main arguements against big bang and for god is that
"lol wut? there was nothing and then it exploded lul"

well the same holds true for god being real
"so wait there was nothing, then there was a "being" with unlimited power

most arguements for and against religion end up that way imo

FAIL. You're still talking about ARGUMENTS, and not PROOF. There being ZERO proof for this god, and there should be MOUNTAINS OF EVIDENCE LAYING AROUND, then the only sane conclusion is that this god character either doesn't exist or is so removed that it doesn't matter.

Name: Anonymous 2007-10-14 4:19

both

Name: Anonymous 2007-10-14 16:15

nothing in science has been proven, just hasnt been disproved. you seem to get a bit overexicited about absolute proofs, rather than just think about stuff for the sake of thinking just to see where it leads

Name: Anonymous 2007-10-14 17:56

you've still failed to prove theres no evidence of god.

Name: anonymous 2007-10-14 20:08

>>63 fail god is, a figure made by us to represent what we don't
understand you need no proof

Name: Anonymous 2007-10-15 5:05

what are you talking about, science has prove heaps of crap, and yes it can be disproven, if i say "i think that water boils at 100 degrees celcius" you can prove/disprove it by heating water to 100 degrees celcius.

RELIGION is the one that hasnt been proven or disproved, that is because its non-falseable, meaning it is an invalid argument. its like me saying god is a woman, you cant prove it or disprove it, if you say "in the bible hes a man" the bible isnt proof, its just a sourced opinion which you CANNOT verify its validity, if i went back in time and left a book saying "god is a woman" and i use it to back my argument its the same shit.

Well said.

Both arguments fail to understand the meaning of the beginning of time.

Also, square brackets.
