Smelly body odor.

In Europe men often don't wear antiperspirants or deoderants.  They let their natural body odor waft in to the collective nostrils of the opposite sex.  Would this work in the US?  Would the natural pheremones contained in male sweat attract women like mad?  Or would the actual odor drive them away?  It seems to be a paradox of biology.

I seem to remember a legitimate study a while back which showed that women were naturally repelled by the scent of body odor. It was conducted by a major Japanese medical institution but I can't remember which. Regardless, I don't think smelling like you haven't showered in a week is going to help you attract the opposite sex.
