Smelly body odor.

In Europe men often don't wear antiperspirants or deoderants.  They let their natural body odor waft in to the collective nostrils of the opposite sex.  Would this work in the US?  Would the natural pheremones contained in male sweat attract women like mad?  Or would the actual odor drive them away?  It seems to be a paradox of biology.

>>1 LaVey certainly seemed the pheromones had the upper hand, but even if that is true then your odor will still have the effect of offending:

1) People of the same sex
2) Friends/Family Members/Other Uninterested Persons

Possibly different ethnic groups smell differently also, and this might be ugly in the United States. Theoretically people of the same group have a tolerance for their own smells, but little or none for the smells of others. In an ethnically diverse society this would make the disadvantages of not wearing deodorant far outweigh the advantages.
