oldfag feels old

Fuck it, /prog/. I like my programming job and I make big bux in a well respected company, but I can't help but feel like I'll be too old for this shit in ten years. Dicking around with stuff that just almost kinda mostly works day in and day out, trying to figure out that undocumented option that someone mentioned in a mailing list once. The world of software is full of shit held together with twine, gum and (the good parts) duct tape, and honestly I don't see anyone past 50 in these kinds of jobs anywhere I've looked. There was just another round of firings at work, and it seems the chance of being considered a "low performer" really increase with age.

So, what am I gonna do? Should I try to become a manager, herding other filthy neckbeards for the rest of my life? Buy tons of buttcoin and hope for a bubble?
