/g/ truly overtook /prog/ in its entirety. I didn't think that this would actually happen. Well, all that's left is to see if they actually stick around to host a text-only version of their board here, or if they leave in a few months.

Nope. Its a dedicated effort by few disgruntled individuals to "kill /prog/" and force /prog/ regulars to migrate to private textboards/forums. Notice the post rate has declined? These posters lurk /g/, take its content, repost here and hope a stray /g/tard(which sporadically do visit) replies to them and stays for a few minutes.
Its a "saturation flood" technique which requires daily injection of content from /g/. If you browse /g/ these /pro/g/ threads will all look like reposts, because the idiots don't even change the style or content.
They just repost and reply to themself. There is no more than 2-3 posters doing this and they all try to imitate /g/ superficially. Also "le forum slide" threads are too obvious, whoever posted that.
