Why is it that I still have to hit Caps Lock just to capitalize a letter and then hit it again to start typing lowercase again? There has to be a more efficient way.

Well actually, if you turn on Caps Lock and hold down shift to type lowercase letters, then you won't have to press any special button to capitalize a letter!
