That's right, it's backwards. AMD is moving to subordinate x86-64, and do it in a backwards compatible way. This is the Athlon64 all over again. Us game programmers see the writing on the wall, x86 is dead--both consoles use the same hardware architecture, and since desktop games will be optimized for HSAIL, gamers will want to make sure to buy AMD.
