The algorithm generates reasonably accurate results using a unique first approximation for Newton's method, however it is much slower and less accurate than using the SSE instruction rsqrtss on x86 processors, and also released in 1999.

Not my fault only Intel knows how to make processors. Glorious x86 can do two rsqrtss per cycle while your architecture for plastic toys will take 50 cycles in the best case while still running at half the frequency.

Guess that's why Intel can charge $300 per chip and ARMs are cheaper than toilet paper.
