Why concatenative programming matters?

$SUBJ. Explain me. It seems that concatenative folks are total opposite of what SICP taught me:  where SICP suggests immutable data, concatenative suggests dup and swap.

What am I missing? Is concatenative programming as big joke as it looks like?
