People have this misconception,
They think my keyboard is a weapon.
If only they GNU that Social Engineering
Is the Standard not the Exception.
I come from the days of the baud
When my hard drives had jumpers
and Raid wasn't something I said
as a reference to Warcraft.
I used to boot OS's off Floppies
Now I just run a Virtual Machine
I believe in Open Source Movements
and free information for all the users
You call me a hacker,
a cracker, a coder, a programmer
I'm really just a liberator
Now this is where I ask you
To please take a second and listen
Think about the things you are missing
Where the world as a collective mass is going
I accept that I am fortunate to have this life
To write these words without fear
But I also must make clear
That we are rapidly losing the final frontier.
The world is online, inline, uploaded, downloaded
Linked, embedded, and connected.
So much noise, it's hard to follow
Sometimes I feel overloaded
With all the noise from the digital age,
It's hard to see what's going down
Outside of my screens when I'm not looking
So put that shit down for a second and learn something
I'm not a hacker, I'm just a person
I don't really have a purpose here,
These are just words.
It started as a rap in my head,
Now it's more of a song.
Not sure how to finish this little ditty,
Except that sometimes it's better
To disconnect, unload, go offline
shutdown, rewind, dismount
instead of constantly being O N L I N E .....
End of Line
