Parsing a PDF

Name: Anonymous 2013-04-22 16:22

Does anyone here know how to take raw PDF data and somehow convert it to a readable PDF file? Some asshole uploaded a PDF file to a site that wants text, and before that some other asshole built a form that doesn't check for valid text.

I tried viewing the source (since some of the PDF tags get dropped in presentation by the browser), copying everything between the <pre></pre> tags, pasting into a text editor, and saving as .pdf, but that didn't work. None of my PDF readers would accept it.

I just want to know my fucking race time...

Any advice would be appreciated.

>>1, can you break the pdf in mupdf or a hex editor, to try and read the text?
I recall a way to do this, than sed'ing the file for characters. But meh, I don't deal with .pdf. My clients are smart and use .ps.xz, and the very bright, use .troff.
