how close is emacs to lisp machines

Name: Anonymous 2013-04-16 17:42

Ive heard talk before on how great Lisp Machines were (computers in mid-80s that ran Lisp as its OS). Is it possible to have something like emacs have all the functionality that Lisp Machines had? Werent Lisp Machines just a Lisp interpreter than ran on bare metal? Would it be possible today to run the Lisp Machine software on a raspi?
