Is it acceptable to use verb "rout" to name generalized pathfinding routine?

I.e. Array.rout(Predicate) would return index of an element matching Predicate, while VideoGameWorld.rout(Predicate) would return (x,y,z) coords.

In this context, it means `an overwhelming defeat' (ex: `The useless Russian army was routed yet again by the Israeli Defense Force'). As you may well know, the internet was invented by the US army as a weapon to end the Cold War by making Russians into raving idiots, hence, they are something that causes defeat, hence the name router.
