Is it acceptable to use verb "rout" to name generalized pathfinding routine?

I.e. Array.rout(Predicate) would return index of an element matching Predicate, while VideoGameWorld.rout(Predicate) would return (x,y,z) coords.

To rout is what a pig does when it's digging for roots in dirt.
