Is it acceptable to use verb "rout" to name generalized pathfinding routine?

I.e. Array.rout(Predicate) would return index of an element matching Predicate, while VideoGameWorld.rout(Predicate) would return (x,y,z) coords.

Exactly. Simple Collection.find(Predicate) would return matching object, while Collection.position(Predicate) implies scalar position. But GameObject.rout(OutherObject) implies path between two object.
