As someone who does full stack web design and development, I agree. I write tailored code for every website I produce, I have a repository of methods that I can re-use to save time.
I hate these gigantic cock guzzling frameworks everyone uses. All you need is HTML/CSS/Your favorite server language/Your favorite DB software/safe programming practices.
The whole concept of "web application" seems to imply something of like complexity as a desktop application and a "do everything in JS" mentality, when instead it should be treated as an extension language for minor things.
